High-detail flashlight effects: Note: This procedure requires editing a game file; creating a backup copy of the file before proceeding is recommended. With a text editor, edit the “nocturne.ini” file in the “system” directory in the game folder. Change the “haloMode=0” entry to “haloMode=2”. You can also set this line to “haloMode=1” for slightly less of the same effect. The effect is not placed correctly with some models. For example, the cone of light emanates not from the flashlight, but from a point about a foot in front of it. Running away: The woods are filled with deadly creatures, but your character is fast. You can usually outrun danger provided you have got an idea of where you need to go. Display the map to pause the action and decide on a direction to run.

Ammunition: If you prefer to gun down enemies instead of running away, make sure to search locations for ammo. For example, you can find two boxes of bullets in Parr’s house, and a huge cache of ammunition in Asgaya’s cabin.

Puzzle solutions: Examine all the notes and drawings Doc collects. Except for a couple of trial-and-error puzzles, the solutions to the puzzles you find are usually found there.
