High-detail flashlight effects: Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the “nocturne.ini” file in the “system” directory in the game folder. Change the “haloMode=0” entry to “haloMode=2”. You can also set this line to “haloMode=1” for slightly less of the same effect. The effect is not placed correctly with some models. For example, the cone of light emanates not from the flashlight, but from a point about a foot in front of it. Running away: The woods are full of deadly creatures, but your character is fast. You can usually outrun danger provided you have got a good idea of where you need to go. Display the map to pause the action and decide on a direction to run.

Ammunition: If you decide to gun down enemies instead of running away, make sure to search locations for ammunition. For example, you can find two boxes of bullets in Parr’s house, and a large cache of ammunition in Asgaya’s cabin.

Puzzle solutions: Examine all the notes and drawings Doc collects. Except for a few of trial-and-error puzzles, the solutions to the puzzles you find are usually found there.
