Note: This procedure requires editing a game file; creating a backup copy of the file before proceeding is recommended. With a text editor, edit the “config.ini” file in the “program files he guild 2 – pirates of the european seas” directory. Locate the [INIT-PLAYER-0] heading and change the value that follows the Money = entry to whatever desired. The highest number that can be used is 9999999999. Below that line is the line detailing enemy players, which you can edit to make them have no money, residence, etc. To change the HasResidence and Married lines, a 1 means yes and 0 means no. To change the Workshops line, you can have about as many as desired. For example 0 is none and 3 is three.

For example, use the first mission in the game, “A New Beginning”. Open the “Hanse_1.lua” file in the “C:Program FilesThe Guild 2 – Pirates of the European SeasScriptsCampaignHanse_1” folder with a text editor directory. Locate the line CreditMoney(“#Player”,4000,”StartupMoney”) and change the 4000 value to anything desired. Do not modify the file while the game is running. The game has to be launched after the modifications are made and the file has been saved.
