Story and setting
The story begins more than a year after six young girls disappeared in Sicily. Susan follows a new clue to a ruined noble residence once owned by the Ashmann family, where family secrets, buried memories and supernatural phenomena begin to overlap. The setting also leads back to Cristo Morente, the Sicilian convent where the Red Nun’s disturbing legend began.
Stormind describes Red Nun’s Legacy as the conclusion to the trilogy, but it is also designed as a standalone experience for newcomers. Returning players should find the final answers to the series’ central mystery, while new players will be able to follow Susan’s search without first completing Remothered: Tormented Fathers or Remothered: Broken Porcelain. Cissy Jones voices Susan and Maggie Robertson voices the Red Nun.
How it plays
This is a third-person survival-horror adventure built around stealth, investigation and puzzle solving. Susan explores the villa, searches rooms for clues and key items, and solves puzzles to open new areas. Relentless Stalkers provide the main danger, with hiding and evasion forming the basis of survival, although the gameplay trailer confirms limited melee weapons for desperate attempts to fight back.
The new systems centre on three psychic abilities. Retrocognition lets Susan experience memories attached to objects and places; Secret in Mirrors exposes hidden truths and breaks hypnotic illusions; and Moth Manipulation allows her to control swarms of moths, destroy infested nests and uncover routes through the environment. The game is being made in Unreal Engine 5, with current production coverage also pointing to Lumen and Nanite technology.
Trailers and showcases
The reveal trailer premiered during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase on 12 March 2026. It established the premise in work-in-progress footage: six girls have vanished in Sicily, Susan receives a recording that may point to her daughter, and she enters the Ashmann residence in search of answers. The story trailer followed on 15 May, showing more of the villa, the Red Nun and the game’s Italian neo-giallo tone, while confirming that the final chapter could be played as a standalone story.
The first proper gameplay trailer appeared during the PC Gaming Show on 7 June. It showed stealth encounters in the villa, limited melee combat and the three psychic abilities in action. Stormind’s release-date trailer, published on 17 August, confirmed 27 October 2026 and focused on the villa’s shifting reality, reflections, memories and the continuing threat of the Stalkers.
Platforms, editions and UK price
The game launches in the UK on Tuesday 27 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. PC versions are planned for Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. The Standard Edition contains the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds a digital artbook and soundtrack, with the latter containing 25 tracks, three bonus studio-session pieces and more than an hour of music by Akira Yamaoka and Aram Shahbazian.
