Official Fact Sheet:

The add-on to the 2001 PC Game of the Year, Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest expands the scope of Empire Earth further into the future, allowing for planetary conquest. The expansion pack builds upon the award-winning real-time strategy game by offering a new, 15th Epoch to the 14 existing Epochs in the original game. Players have conquered new lands before, but this time to continue the dominance of their civilization, they must cross the boundaries of space.

With Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, gamers can become the greatest conqueror of all time by creating, building, and leading a civilization to transcend the ages – from the discovery of fire, to flight, to the next frontier: space.

The expansion pack also includes the three most requested campaigns worldwide; ancient Rome, World War II, and Asia in the 24th century.

From Prehistory to the Nano Age of the 24th Century, Empire Earth serves up gaming on an epic scale. Empire Earth is an epic real-time strategy (RTS) game that covers over 500,000 years of human history, from the discovery of fire to the laser battles of the future. Each player takes control of a fledgling civilization and strives to forge the greatest of all empires.

  • New Space Epoch. The Space Age Epoch occurs immediately after the Nano Epoch and covers the time period from 2200 to 2300 AD, Earth’s near future.
  • The Space Age Epoch enables players to carry their battles and conquests off-planet and into space. Players start on separate home worlds consisting of land, hills, trees, and resources, and through the advancement of technology, gain the ability to construct new buildings and units, which allow them to move off their home worlds into space. The goal of the game and the victory conditions remain the same, that is to expand, build an empire, and conquer opponents.
  • A new class of units, space ships, will enable players to conduct battle and move freely through space. Space ships can be used to colonize neutral planets and to invade the home planets of opposing players and win the game.
  • All-New Single-Player Campaigns. The new Roman campaign puts players into the shoes of a newly elected consul, Gaius Marius and later his young nephew, Julius Caesar, in a story filled with intrigue, daring escapes, and epic battles. The second new campaign thrusts gamers into World War II as a commander of U.S. forces just following the attack at Pearl Harbor. The third campaign is set in 24th century Asia and follows the rise of a new hero through mankind’s expansion into space.
  • New Unique Units, Buildings, Powers, and Calamities. Space ships and docking ports are just the beginning. In Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, each of the 21 pre-designed civilizations will gain a unique special power, building, or unit. Examples include: the Kingdom of Italy’s Metallurgy power, which allows them to pay building costs with gold or iron interchangeably; Great Britain’s S.A.S. unit will be able to plant demolitions and swim across water; and the United States’ market building will allow that civilization to trade abundant resources for scarce ones. In addition, players will be able to invoke catastrophes and calamities upon their opponents, including Volcanoes, Small Pox, Ice Age, Plague, Famine, and Global Warming
  • Upgraded Graphics. New terrains, lighting, water animations, battlefield scarring, and environmental enhancements will ensure that Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest stays on the cutting edge of PC graphics.
  • Enhanced Multi-Player Support. An enhanced matchmaking system, including global ranking, will make it easier to find friends online.
  • Same Epic Scope, Epic Depth. Stunning 3D graphics, day/night effects, special lighting, and beautiful landscapes makes players a part of the action. They can zoom in to get a close-up view of their troops, or zoom out to see the big picture. A simple and unobtrusive user interface lets them control all the action with ease. Huge random maps and a variety of map types, including tournament-style maps, provide the ultimate replayability. Helpful tutorial missions allow novice players to jump right into the fun. Gamers can even create their own custom scenarios and maps with the versatile campaign editor.
