It was a time of light, it was a time of darkness. The four systems had prospered greatly within the balance that only peaceful coexistence could bring. Each of the known systems had something to offer the others, who were all eager to receive. The ancient axes which had been ground for millennia by the systems had been buried. Then it happened – an event of religious armageddon for some, an event of impossible chaotic chance for others. Historians today call this the “Great Collapse”.

When the Great Collapse occurred, the systems were plunged into a period of darkness and loss of communication. The prosperous planets and peaceful co-existence were gone as the systems struggled to find each other again. The joint efforts of the four systems to restore their great civilization became known as The Reconstruction Initiative (TRI). The work of TRI has progressed through the years, bringing unparalleled advancements in technology and innovative inventions since. But as TRI spacecraft have re-occupied space, they have learned that humanity is no longer alone among the stars. Now we face the implacable Conflux, marauders from another universe.

While the Conflux are viewed by many as a recent emergence, TRI researchers have learned that the Conflux are not so new after all. With the opening of the gates to the Conflux universe in Pulsar and Amananth, new dangers have presented themselves, threatening to shake a distracted TRI to its knees. Trouble riddles the universe, from old rekindled conflicts between Hyperial and Quantar, to conflict within growing forces in TRI itself. Political groups with their own agendas have placed the future of TRI in question, but still TRI continues to exist and move forward. The Conflux wait in the wings, striking swiftly at any opportunity they can, even holding a TRI Defense outpost station under their command for a time before being driven back. Now more than ever, TRI needs help.
