Official Fact Sheet:

You will guide the actions of a group of four heroes — armored swordsmen, daring thieves, gifted archers and wielders of arcane sorcery — as they explore the land, sea and subterranean passages in search of treasure and glory.

Your characters will begin their journey possessing only the most basic skills and equipment, and are barely deserving of the title “adventurer.” As they continue, however, they will acquire personal abilities, enchanted artifacts, deadly weapons, and powerful knowledge, all of which they will need to face the greater challenges ahead — to one day epitomize a true adventurer!

  • Enhanced graphics — 3Dfx and other 3D accelerator card support. Less pixelization when close to objects, smoother animation and increased frame rate. Better monster and NPC graphics. Monsters are pre-rendered 3D sprites.
  • More character development — more character classes and character races. You can be elf, dwarf, human and goblin. You can also develop your characters as either good or evil and still finish the game.
  • Addictive game play — continuous in-game rewards give a sense of accomplishment as you journey throughout the world. Multiple in-game “cut scenes” give a better sense of the ongoing story and provide refreshing vignettes.
  • New monsters — all-new monster graphics. Most monsters come from Heroes of Might and Magic III, the best set of monster graphics to date. Includes 26 completely new monsters.
  • Accessibility — easier learning curve for newcomers, and a new training grounds area that allows you to become accustomed to the game, interface, movement, etc.
  • New story and character involvement — start off in a ‘management’ role and be led through quite a bit of the story and quests, etc. by advisors. New story has ‘contested lands’ which will lead to A.I. battles that you can join or avoid.
