Official Fact Sheet:

The city itself will be divided among 3 mafia families – Italian, Chinese and Polish. There will be police, bars, shops, banks etc. Everything living, as the simulation of real life. The player will be able to complete tasks given by the mafias, which will have effects on him and the rest of the world – killing some boss will probably give him much money and a big name among the family which gave him the task, but mafia whose boss he killed will be seeking revenge.

During the game Garret meets a beautiful young lady. She saves his life and he becomes to feel responsible for her (to say nothing about his feelings to her). During the game he finds out that she has been kidnapped and he has to find her.

  • Enemies use the Path Generated System (PGS) to move. This means that they can relatively go anywhere they really could, and it does not take hundreds percent of processor time to calculate. Screens on the left visualise this method. green and blue lines are prerendered possible paths, while blue ones are picked from the general set by the actual character moving.
  • Bad guys want to kill Mason, but rarely pay their lives for that. They hide, sneak, never stand in one place for long.
  • They know the powers and limitations of their weapons. For instance sniper will track you from a distance, avoiding getting closer. A guy with precise submachine gun will duck behind a crate or in a dark corner, shooting short bursts of bullets. Mafioso with powerful but imprecise Ingram will try to sneak closer, for it is pointless for him to shoot from a 100 meters.
  • Even when well hidden, enemies do not stand and rest but wander around trying to get Mason from behind. Some of them are indeed smart, the other dumber or slower, but don’t expect them standing and waiting for your bullets.
  • Each mafia, as well as the police, has it’s own fighting style. Italians are smart, hiding and sneaking more. Russians are heavier and stronger, preferring eye-to-eye combat (which does not mean them standing uncovered). Chinese are either heavily armed or small, and very, very fast. Policemen (especially assault squads) work more in teams, armed with submachine guns, often helped by the sniper. Don’t expect to defeat them all using one tactics!
  • Of course when heavily hurt, most of the enemies will run for cover. They can heal themselves, so do not consider them out of the battlefield!
