Worms Revolution Review

Any serious Gamer should be able to relate to the Worms series. The Worms series first began on the PC back in 1995. Since the first release there have been 17 different releases. The latest is Worms: Revolution, which is available on PC, XBOX 360 and PS3. The series is published by British game publisher Team 17.

Worms Revolution is as you would expect, it continues the series with action packed worm gameplay, its turn-based worms vs. worm’s action! The 2D environments are also still very much a feature… well… kind of; however, all environments are rendered with a brand new 3D engine. This makes the 2D gameplay look a lot more realistic, and it’s actually called 2.5D, which is best described as 2D in 3D, if that makes any sense.

To mix things up Team 17 have included new weapons along with four different worm classes, which include Soldier, Scout, Scientist and Heavy. Each different worm class has special abilities, for example, Heavy worms are slow at moving but can take a hefty beating, whereas scouts are fast but are easily killed.

You can play the game in either singleplayer or multiplayer. The game is downloadable via XBOX Arcade or PlayStation Network on consoles. The game can be downloaded via Steam for PC users.

Worms: Revolution is yet another step in the right direction for any fans of the series. It combines the classical gameplay with an all new 3D rendering engine, new weapons, and all-new worms classes. If you are a fan of the series then this is a must! If you haven’t tried the series, then this is a perfect time to try it.
